1070 Aluminum Sheet

1070 aluminum plate

1070 aluminum sheet is a high-purity industrial-grade aluminum with an aluminum content of no less than 99.7% and extremely low impurity content. Its density is approximately 2.71 g/cm³, offering both lightweight advantages and excellent electrical and thermal conductivity.

Its electrical conductivity is approximately 65% of the international standard for annealed copper, and its thermal conductivity reaches 237 W/(m·K). It has excellent corrosion resistance and being non-toxic and odorless, meeting food contact safety standards.

It has excellent plasticity, with an elongation of 30%-40%, making it easy to form through cold working processes such as rolling, stamping, and bending. It supports various welding methods such as gas welding and argon arc welding. It can also be surface treated with anodizing and spraying to improve its performance and decorative properties.

However, it cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, and its original strength is low (annealed tensile strength ≥75MPa). It can only be moderately improved through cold working, and its machinability is also relatively average.

Main tempers

1070-O(fully annealed): It is with a uniform internal structure and optimal plasticity, facilitating complex cold working such as stamping and bending. It is the most commonly used basic state.

1070-H14(Semi-hardened): Obtained through moderate cold working, its strength is increased compared to the O temper while retaining some plasticity, balancing formability and structural stability. It is suitable for simple formed parts with certain strength requirements.

1070-H18 (Fully Hardened): Fully strengthened through cold working, it reaches the highest strength level, but with relatively lower plasticity. It is suitable for applications requiring high hardness and load-bearing capacity without complex forming.

1070-H24(Semi-hardened Stableened): After cold working and incomplete annealing, its performance is more stable, preventing deformation during subsequent use, balancing strength and dimensional stability.

1070 VS other 1000 series aluminum alloys

1070 Aluminum Alloy: With an aluminum content of ≥99.7%, it has top-tier electrical and thermal conductivity among the 1-series alloys, making it highly competitive in the electronics and power industries. However, its strength is relatively low, limiting its applications to areas with high electrical and thermal conductivity requirements, resulting in a more targeted market.

1060 Aluminum Alloy: This grade has an aluminum content of ≥99.6%, offering a good balance of formability, weldability, and corrosion resistance, along with a cost-effectiveness ratio, making it more popular in general industrial applications.

Many companies use it to manufacture liquid containers for the food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as simple processing equipment in the chemical industry.

1050 Aluminum Alloy: With an aluminum content of ≥99.5%, it exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and ductility, along with good surface reflectivity, resulting in stable demand in overseas markets for chemical auxiliary equipment and reflective signage. Furthermore, it has numerous applications in the manufacture of simple utensils in the food processing industry.

1100 aluminum alloy: With an aluminum content of ≥99.0%, it has slightly higher strength than the aforementioned grades due to the addition of a small amount of copper. It also boasts excellent formability and weldability, making it more popular in general light industry and construction sectors abroad.

It is often used as an alternative to 1070 alloy by companies that are more cost-sensitive and have only minor strength requirements. For example, some small international kitchenware brands prioritize 1100 aluminum alloy for cookware outer shells.
