5086 aluminum sheet, as an aluminum-magnesium alloy, exhibits excellent strength, with a tensile strength reaching 265 MPa and a yield strength of approximately 110 MPa, placing it in the mid-to-high range among similar aluminum alloys and capable of meeting the load-bearing requirements of various structural components. Although it cannot be strengthened through heat treatment, its strength properties can be further enhanced through cold working processes such as cold rolling.
In terms of weldability, it possesses good weldability, adaptable to various welding methods such as argon arc welding and gas welding. Regarding corrosion resistance, it demonstrates outstanding resistance to seawater and atmospheric corrosion, making it widely used in humid and corrosive environments such as shipbuilding and marine engineering.
