5059 Aluminum Sheet for Shipbuilding Tanker Truck
5059 Aluminum
5059 aluminum plate is an improved alloy developed based on the traditional 5000 series (aluminum-magnesium) alloys to meet the requirements of higher strength and corrosion resistance.
By optimizing the ratio of elements such as magnesium and manganese and strictly controlling impurities, it retains the excellent resistance to marine atmospheric corrosion of established alloys such as aluminum 5083, while significantly improving tensile strength (usually reaching over 300MPa), and also has good weldability and processability.
This material is mainly used in fields with dual stringent requirements for material strength and salt spray corrosion resistance, such as marine engineering structural components, ship decks, liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier storage tanks, and high-end tanker truck.

Main tempers
Tempers | Tensile strength(MPa) | Yield strength(MPa) | Elongation(%) | Features |
O | 290 - 345 | ≥ 125 | ≥ 16 | The softest material with the best plasticity, suitable for deep drawing and complex forming processes. |
H111 | 290 - 345 | ≥ 140 | ≥ 16 | Between annealing and work hardening, it possesses certain strength and good formability, often used in sheet metal where work hardening is not strictly controlled. |
H116 | ≥ 310 | ≥ 205 | ≥ 16 | Commonly used in marine engineering. After special tensile and stabilization treatments, it exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and low susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking (SCC). |
H321 | ≥ 310 | ≥ 215 | ≥ 12 | Commonly used in aerospace. It undergoes solution heat treatment, cold working, and stabilization annealing. It possesses excellent low-temperature toughness and resistance to exfoliation corrosion. |
